How to play Word500?

Guess the secret word in 8 attempts or less.

After each guess, the three colored tiles on the right (green, yellow, red) show how many letters of your guess are in the secret word, and how many are in the right position.

Unlike Wordle — which tells you exactly which letters are correct — Word500 only tells you the count. You have to figure out which ones!

The on-screen keyboard has a few special keys:

Spacebar — inserts an underscore (_) placeholder. Use it to skip a letter while you search for your next guess (e.g. P _ N _ S). On your physical keyboard, press Space or hyphen (-).

Hint — generates a word that fits all previous clues. Requires at least one guess first. Can you resist the temptation?

Clear — resets all color markings on the board.

Click any letter tile to cycle its color: red → yellow → green → none. This helps you visualize your deductions. Use the Clear button (eraser icon, bottom keyboard row) to reset all colors at once.

Word500 can be played in various languages, modes and difficulty levels. At Standard difficulty level (green smiley) the secret word cannot have repeat letters (like ORDER) and some letters are excluded.
